Last updated 27 August 2026. This policy says what Huddles keeps about you, what it does with it, and what it does not do. The short version: we keep the least we can, we use it to run and improve Huddles, and we do not sell it.
Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your verified email address and the name on your Google account. We keep the email as your identity and the name as a starting display name you can change. We never see your Google password, and we do not receive anything else from your Google account.
What you make. Your display name, your avatar (a chosen gradient, a character, or a photo you upload), your note, the spaces you belong to, your own whiteboards and documents, your friendships, your blocks, and the events you schedule or say you are coming to.
What happens. A ledger of actions taken in the product — sign-ups, spaces made and joined, huddles started and ended, broadcasts, events, reports, blocks and moderation decisions — with who did them and when. It exists so moderation can be answered for and so we can see how the product is used.
Visits. We use Umami, a cookie-less analytics service, to count visits to our pages: which pages, how many, roughly where from, and a handful of named moments such as "sign-in pressed". It does not set cookies, does not identify you, and does not follow you to other sites.
Technical. Server logs with request paths, timestamps and IP addresses, kept briefly for reliability and abuse prevention.
We do not record conversations. Voice is carried and not kept. Captions are relayed and not kept. Chat is discarded when the huddle ends. There is no "last seen", no friend count, no mutual friends. A huddle's whiteboard and document are discarded when it ends. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not use advertising cookies or advertising identifiers.
To run Huddles: to sign you in, show you your spaces, carry your huddles, and keep your work where you left it.
To keep it safe: to act on reports, to enforce blocks, and to answer for moderation decisions later.
To understand and improve it: internal analytics over the ledger and over visit counts — how many people came, how long they stayed, which features were used, where the product fails. This is done in aggregate and for our own eyes.
To tell you about Huddles: we may use what we know about how the product is used to decide what to build and what to say about it, and we may email you about Huddles itself — a welcome, a change to these terms, an event you said you were coming to. You can opt out of anything that is not about your account by replying to it or writing to us.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We use a small number of service providers to run Huddles, each of which sees only what it needs to do its job and is not permitted to use it for anything else:
We will disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people using Huddles.
One: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is set only after you sign in, it is not used to track you, and signing out removes it. Some preferences — your theme, your accessibility settings, where you left the mini bar — are kept in your browser's own storage and never leave your device.
Your account and what you have made: until you delete them. Whiteboards and documents nobody touches: until the retention period your plan sets. Server logs: days. The ledger of moderation actions and reports: kept, because deleting an account must not be a way to erase a complaint about yourself.
You can change your name, avatar and note at any time. You can leave a space, remove a friend, or block someone. You can go private and disappear from the field. You can delete your account by writing to dev.edwardstechnology@gmail.com; we will remove your profile and your personal surfaces and confirm when it is done.
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict or erase your data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will help, whichever law applies.
Huddles is not for children under 13, or under 16 where that is the age of consent for data processing. We do not knowingly collect information from them; if you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Our servers and database are in the United States. If you use Huddles from elsewhere, your information is transferred there to provide the service.
This policy will change as the product does. When something material changes we will say so in the product before it takes effect, and the date at the top will move.
