Use cases
Streams & communities
A stream page, a fan site, a forum: people on it have no account with you and should not need one with us. Walk-ins give every visitor a face; the chat shape gives them a room beside the stream; going live gives the host a stage.

The shape#
Walk-ins on, the chat preset if the stream carries the voice, or full if the community should be able to huddle up on its own. The island draws the text stream with a composer; a host can go live to everyone in the room from the ⋯ menu.
// anonymous: true on the app; no token, no backend.
Huddles.init({ embedder: 'nightstream', position: 'bottom-right' });Why it works here#
- No sign-up wall. A visitor is a numbered name and a face until they choose otherwise, and the same visitor tomorrow.
- The room is theirs, not a comments field. Faces, reactions rising off the strip, a huddle of their own if the shape allows it.
- The hybrid turns a regular into a person: once they log in to your site, hand them a token and they keep their place.
